The story of Treehugger Organic Salon is a simple one. The timing was right, the perfect location had revealed itself, and the enthusiasm and support for our vision was stronger than ever. After years of working in the toxic and often dangerous conditions that many salons subject their employees and customers to it was time to make a change. The dangers many of the harsh chemicals and treatments pose not only create a hazardous working environment but also have a negative impact on the Earth. It is easy to understand the threats posed by the direct exposure to dangerous chemicals within the beauty industry, but little attention is being paid to the disposal of these wastes, many of which are simply rinsed down the drains. Our primary focus here at Treehugger Organic Salon is to offer a safe, environmentally friendly environment while leaving as small a footprint as possible. We continually challenge ourselves to be better and seek out new ways to improve our dream.
